Jason-Lead Vocals & Guitar
Encouraged to sing and play music by my mother, I started performing with my twin brother at the age of six. Once music was introduced, I really wanted to be in a music act. Listening to guys like John Fogerty inspired me to play guitar and sing. At age thirteen, I started guitar lessons with my brother and cousin (Andy H.) and we managed to create a rock band. While performing small parties and talent shows, I wanted to build my strength in vocals. I joined every choir and a cappella group in school. Studying and loving vocal harmonies, I felt I could use these skills in a rock band. After high school, still in our band, I sang with doo wop/barber shop groups and performed guitar in Purdue Calumets Jazz show Choir. I sang with a group called Five O’clock Shadow for five years and then joined Harbor Lights (a doo-wop group from northwest Indiana). On stage, I’ve had the pleasure of singing with Smokey Robinson, The Drifters, The Vogues, The Spaniels and The Manhattans. In seven years with Harbor Lights, we’ve performed festivals throughout Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, and recorded two albums. Always playing in our rock band and knowing that Pink Floyd had all the stylistic harmonies that I enjoy, I’m excited to sing and play guitar in Echoes of Pompeii. My influences include David Gilmour, Roger Waters, John Fogerty, Freddie Mercury and Smokey Robinson.
